Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal has been given the additional charge of Communications and IT Ministry. A communication from Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the President has accepted the resignation of Mr. A. Raja as recommended by the Prime Minister. The President has also accepted the advice of the Prime Minister to give this additional charge to Mr. Sibal. Mr. Raja had resigned last night in the wake of allegations of corruption with regard to the allocation of 2G spectrum.Another communique from Rashtrapati Bhavan says that Mr. V. Narayansamy, Minister of State for Planning and Parliamentary Affairs has been assigned the additional work of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions. Mr. Prithviraj Chavan, who has taken over as Maharashtra Chief Minister was holding this portfolio.
