Kapil expresses need to completely transform university system

The Minister for Human Resource Development, Communications and Information technology Kapil Sibal has expressed the need to completely transform the university system in the country to make them the repository of knowledge.

Speaking at an Annual Conference of higher education in Dubai today, Mr. Sibal said any further delay in this regard is going to have very serious consequences for the future of the country.

He called upon the educators and technologists to use technology in higher education, which must be made available to students free of cost.

The Ambassador of India to UAE, M K Lokesh, Indian Consul General at Dubai Sanjay Verma and chairman of the Sakal papers were present on the occasion. A number of senior academia, policy makers and Vice-Chancellors from Indian universities are participating in the conference. The previous editions of the conference were held at Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, and Colombo.
