In Gujarat, the Kandla port trust, which is the first major port in the country will establish the SPECIAL ECONOMY ZONE at the cost of eleven thousand crore rupees at Kandla. The Deputy chairman of the Kandla port trust M.A. bhaskaracharya disclosed this to our Bhuj correspondent Shailesh Vyas in an interviiew this evening. He said the SEZ will have five thousnad hactres of land, in which industries realted with ports,and marine activities will be developed. He said kandla port trust will invest 4500 crore rupees in intial stage for this project. He added that within one year the SEZ may start functioning near kandla.AIR correspondent adds that kandla port is the second major port in the country aftre Kochi to have own SEZ., which will provide large nunber of direct and indirect employmnets oppertunity in boarderinbg district of kutch.
