The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath is meeting with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitely in New Delhi on ending Parliament impasse.

The meeting came amid the uproar over Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail issue in the Parliament.

The Opposition is adamant on its demand for a discussion on the issue under a rule that entails voting in the house. Earlier today, Mr. Nath also met Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar.

On Tuesday, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister reiterated that government is not averse to discussion under any rules on the issue. The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has also expressed confidence that the government has the required strength in Parliament in case of voting on FDI issue.
