Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath has said the government is committed to the Constitution Amendment Bill on promotions for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in government jobs. Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, Mr Nath said the Constitution Amendment Bill is pending before the Rajya Sabha.

Mr Nath urged all political parties to keep politics away from the debate on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). He said that this is the first time that FDI policy has been announced by the government which enables the states to avail it.
