Indian boxer Shyam Kakara has booked a ticket to this year's Youth Olympics besides assuring himself of a medal in the ongoing World Youth Championships.In Sofia, Bulgaria on Tuesday, Shyam advanced to the semifinals with a thrilling 2-1 win against Venezuela's Yoel Finol in the 49kg category quarter-finals. Reaching the semifinal stage was a prerequisite to make the cut for the Youth Olympics which is scheduled to be held in Nanjing, China from August 16 to 28.The 18-year old Andhra Pradesh boxer had earlier won two gold medals and a silver in his previous international trips. The Indians are competing under the International Boxing Association (AIBA) flag due to the termination following the federation's failure to comply with the world body's directives on holding elections.
