The 2nd Pearls Kabaddi World Cup -2011 is commencing with much fanfare in Bhatinda from this evening. Fourteen teams from all over the world are participating in the tournament.Sukhbir Singh Sarwan is leading the Indian team. The first Women World Cup Kabaddi is also being held along with this tournament. Four countries USA, UK, Turkeminstan and the host India are participating.This 17-day Kabaddi extravaganza would have fourteen teams from Canada, Australia, UK, Afghanistan, Germany, Nepal, Pakistan, USA, Italy, Argentina, Norway, Spain, Sri Lanka and host India.They would vie for the title as well as the prize money of Rs. 2 crore. The Runners-Up would get Rs. 1 Crore and the third prize winnes would get Rs. 51 Lacs.In Women category, the champion team would receive Rs. 25 lakh followed by Rs. 15 lakh to runners-Up, and Rs. 10 lakh each to third and fourth position winners.All the teams have been divided into two pools and the matches would be played in the 16 stadiums in as many districts of Punjab from tomorrow onwards. November 13, 17 and 19 have been kept as rest days. Finals will be held at Ludhiana on November 20th.Anti-doping team has also reached Bhatinda to conduct dope tests on suspected players.
