Kidambi Srikanth has entered the men's singles semifinals of the Australian Open Super Series badminton tournament. In all-Indian quarterfinal duel in Sydney on Friday, Srikanth overcame B Sai Praneeth in straight games 25-23, 21-17. However, Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu and defending champion Saina Nehwal have bowed out of the women's singles. In the quarterfinals, while Sindhu lost to world no.1 and top seed Tai Tzu Ying of the Chinese Taipei in three games,21-10, 20 -22, 16-21, Saina went down against sixth seeded Sun Yu of China, also in three games 17-21 21-10, 21-17.
