K. Rosiah sworn in as TN Governor

Mr. K. Rosiah, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, was sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu on Wendesday. In a simple ceremony at the Raj Bhavan premises, the Chief Justice of Madras High Court, Justice M.Y. Eqbal administered the oath of office to him. The ceremony was attended by the state Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha, her Cabinet colleagues and other dignitaries.Seventy-eight-year-old Rosaiah, a veteran Congress leader of Andhra Pradesh, brings with him a vast political and Ministerial experience. Mr. Rosaiah became Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh following the death of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in a helicopter crash. He quit the top post on health grounds paving the way for incumbent Kiran Kumar Reddy.
