The health condition of senior congress leader and former Chief Minister of Kerala, K Karunakaran has slightly improved. He was admitted to a private hospital at Thiruvananthapuram this morning due to severe respiratory problems and acute fever. Doctors attending on Mr. Karunakaran said that he was brought to the hospital in a very critical state and was semiconscious. Karunakaran was immediately put on life supporting system to maintain blood pressure and oxygen level. Hospital sources indicate that, as of now, he is slowly responding to medicines but continues to be critical. Ministers and leaders of different political parties visited the hospital to enquire about the condition of the 91 year old leader.
