The condition of veteran Communist leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoty Basu remains very critical with his major internal organs failing to work. Mr.Basu has been kept on ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital at Salt Lake City in Kolkata. According to the medical bulletin by the hospital this afternoon, Mr.Basu is undergoing dialysis and his cardiovascular condition is being monitored by the five member medical board. His blood pressure, heart beat and pulse rate are being controlled artificially. 96 year old veteran leader was admitted to the hospital with symptoms of pneumonia on New year day.
