The health condition of veteran Communist leader and former West Bengal Chief Minister Mr. Jyoti Basu continues to be critical but stable. His health condition has not deteriorated further. According to the medical bulletin released by the AMRI hospital in Salt Lake City of Kolkata on Wednesday after noon, Mr. Basu is being given liquid diet through rise-tube and his heart beat and pulse rate are stable. He is to be given one unit of blood today to stabilize the hemoglobin count of his blood. He is still under ventilation in the ICU of the hospital. It may be recalled, the veteran Marxist leader was admitted to the AMRI hospital on New Year's Day with complaints of Pneumonia. The next medical bulletin will be released late in the Wednesday evening. <br/><br/>
