The resignation of Calcutta High Court Judge, Justice Soumitra Sen was handed over to President Mrs. Pratibha Devisingh Patil yesterday. Rashtrapati Bhawan sources said that the resignation letter was submitted by a lawyer on behalf of the judge and it was in order.

The President's office is forwarding the letter to Justice Department, which is expected to communicate to the Lok Sabha Secretariat about it. The Secretary General of the Lok Sabha in consultation with various political parties will decide whether or not House should proceed with the impeachment motion against Justice Sen.

He is facing charges of embezzlement. Lok Sabha is schedule to take up impeachment proceedings against Justice Sen tomorrow.
