In Jammu and Kashmir, at a ceremony held on Wednesday in the Convention Centre, Jammu, Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh. AIR Jammu Correspondent reports that Justice Singh took and subscribed to the oath of office before the Lieutenant Governor of J&amp;K, Manoj Sinha. <br />''<br />''Justice Singh has served as Acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court. He is former Judge of Manipur High Court and also served as Acting Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court and Manipur High Court for two times each. Justice Singh was born on the 1st of March, 1963 at Imphal to (Late) Justice N Ibotombi Singh of the Gauhati High Court, who was the first Advocate General of Manipur, and N Gomati Devi. In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President of India has appointed Justice Nongmeikapam Kotiswar Singh as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu &amp; Kashmir and Ladakh last week.&nbsp;<br />
