Justice Mohit Shantilal Shah took oath as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court at a brief official ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Saturday. The Governor of Maharashtra K Sankaranarayanan administered the oath of office to Justice Shah.<br/>Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan, Chairman of the Maharashtra Legislative Council Shivajirao Deshmukh, judges of the Bombay High Court, senior government officials and family members of Justice Shah were among those present on the occasion. <br/>Justice Shah succeeds Chief Justice Anil Dave, who had been elevated as Supreme Court Judge on April 30 this year. Before being transferred to the Bombay High Court, Justice Shah was serving as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. The acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, Justice Jainarayan Patel has been appointed as Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. <br/>
