Puducherry Government has paid three lakh rupees as monetary relief to the wife of under trial prisoner Silvaraj alias Silva, who died in Central Prison at Kalapet. This follows the recommendation of the National Human Rights Commission.According to an official release, the commission considered various reports including post mortem and a Magidterial enquiry and found that Silvaraj died just a day after he was sent to the prison and he had various serious injuries , which led to his death.In the compliance report, Puducherry Government said charge sheets have been filed against five prison inmates, who were found guilty of assaulting him to death.
