Judicial commission to begin its probe into Mathura violence today

In Uttar Pradesh, the single-member judicial commission headed by Justice (retd) Imtiaz Murtaza, will begin its inquiry into the Jawahar Bagh violence in Mathura from ?today. <br/><br/>Pramod Kumar Goyal, (retd) district and sessions judge, who is to function as the secretary for the judicial commission has informed that Justice Murtaza will be in Mathura on Saturday and Sunday.<br/><br/>The judicial inquiry was ordered by the state government after ?24 people, including two police officials, died in the violence that broke out at Jawahar Bagh on June 2.<br/><br/>??AIR correspondent reports that ?Goyal issued public information that any individual or group, intending to provide any information related to the Jawahar Bagh incident to the commission, could do so by furnishing a statement in writing through a duly sworn affidavit.?<br/><br/>While opposition parties had been demanding CBI probe, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav ?ordered the judicial probe.
