Judge, singer, weaver, boatman to propose Modi's name for nomination in Varanasi today

BJP leader Narendra Modi has reached Varanasi to file his nomination papers today from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat.

The AIR correspondent reports from Varanasi that five tier security arrangements are in place in and around the District Election Office in view of his nomination.

No one is allowed to get entry into the office campus without valid passes issued by the district administration. Barriers have been erected to stop vehicles moving towards the district Collectorate and security forces have been deployed.

Barricading has been made in and around the District Election Office and only five persons including the candidate will be allowed inside the office of the Returning Officer.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has said four persons including a retired justice from Allahabad High Court justice Giridhar Malviya, noted classical singer Pandit Chhannu lal Misra, and two persons one each from weaver and sailor communities has been identified as Modi`s proposers for his nominations.

Our correspondent reports that several local education institutions have decided to remain closed in view of rush for Modi`s nominations. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had filed his papers yesterday after conducting an impressive road show. Congress nominee MLA Ajay Rai and Samajwadi Party candidate Kailash Chaurasia have already filed their papers.
