The BJP has made it clear that its demand for a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum and other scams is last and final. It also threatened to take the issue to the streets and raise it in the forthcoming budget session next year. Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, party spokesman, S S Ahluwalia welcomed the Supreme Court observation to widen the ambit of the probe. He also reiterated his party's stand for a probe dating back to 1994, when the country's National Telecom Policy was framed. Justifying the demand, Mr Ahluwalia said only JPC can probe all the matters relating to telecom sector covering from policy formation to its implementation. He said that the tapes of 5,811 phonic conversations spreading to 2,000 hours, recorded by investigative agencies, should also be brought under the purview of JPC probe.
