Joshna Chinappa and Dipika Pallikal have won the ESR International doubles squash championship title. In the final in Manchester last night, the ace Indian doubles pair registered a sensational victory over the experienced Australian duo of Kasey Brown and Donna Urquhart. The Indian pair humbled Urquhart (world number 20) and Brown (world number 10) 11-10, 3-11, 11-10 in a 72-minute thriller. On Tuesday, Chinappa and Pallikal had defeated top seeds and world number three England's Jenny Duncalf and Alison Waters 6-11, 11-8, 11-4 for a place in the summit round. The English pair had won a medal in the 2006 Commonwealth Games. This event was sanctioned and supported under the scheme "Preparation of core probables for the Commonwealth Games 2010" to be held in New Delhi from October 3 to 14.
