Jordan, Palestine stress commitment to two-state solution

Jordan and Palestine have stressed their commitment to the two-state solution that entails creating an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital. <br/><br/>The state-run Petra news agency reported that the pledge was made at a meeting between Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Secretary General of the Executive Committee of Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) Saeb Erekat.<br/><br/>Mr Safadi briefed Mr Erekat on the meeting between King Abdullah II and US Vice President Mike Pence, and efforts exerted to resolve the Israel-Palestine conflict on the basis of the two-state solution.
