Joint Secretary Rahul Jain calls for good coordination among all departments for effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Shakti in Nagaland

Joint Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance, Rahul Jain has called for good coordination among all departments for effective implementation of Jal Jeevan Shakti in Nagaland. He said, this is key as Jal Jeevan Shakti is a convergence model on which all water conservation activities work.<br />'' <br />'' Mr. Jain said this today during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Zunheboto and all heads of department associated with Jal Jeevan mission.  <br />'' <br />'' He was on a three-day visit to Zunheboto district in Nagaland from 22nd to 26th of May. Emphasising the significance of community participation in the Mission, Mr. Jain said operation and management of running water supply schemes with monthly collection from user households is very important. On developing water bodies, he said, the central government has relaxed the one acre norm for all North East States. He, therefore, urged the rural development department to identify more water bodies to meet the target of at least 75 Amrit Sarovars in every district by 15th August this year.<br />'' <br />'' The Joint Secretary also advised on initiating rooftop rainwater harvesting structures at government buildings. Mr. Jain said a central team will visit post-monsoon to monitor the mission works.<br />'' <br />''During his trip, the Joint Secretary visited various spring water sources and several villages in the Zunheboto. Mr. Jain also interacted with villagers, village councils and goan buras on the mission implementation.
