Joint River Commission of India, Bangladesh conducts meet in Tripura

The Joint River Commission of India and Bangladesh held a meeting at Belonia district in Tripura today. Chief Engineer of state Irrigation and flood control department Tapan Lodh said the Joint River commission discussed issues related to embankment in Belonia on Indian side and Amzadnagar in Bangladesh.

The members discussed at length of the issues related to the two embankments and are expected to submit there report to the respective governments. It is noteworthy to say that both India and Bangladesh raised objection for construction of embankments in each others area.

The embankment at Indian side is in Belonia town and the embankment at Bangladesh side is at Amzadnagar.
