Joint Committee of Parliament discussing Land Bill to miss again its deadline for submission of its report

The 30-member Joint Committee of Parliament discussing the Land Bill will again miss its deadline for submission of its report. The report was to be submitted today, however, according to the listed business of the Lok Sabha, the Committee's Chairman SS Ahluwalia would move a motion in the House today seeking further extension up to the 7th of this month. This is the third extension sought by the Committee, which was constituted in May this year to examine the bill.<br/> <br/>The Committee was originally mandated to table its report on the first day of the Monsoon session, which began on the 21st of last month.
