John Holmes arrives in S Lanka on three day official visit

UN Under Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator John Holmes arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday on a three day official visit to get a first hand assessment of the resettlement process of the war displaced Tamil civilians. During his brief stay, he is expected to call on certain cabinet ministers and visit the northern areas where resettlement is taking place. Sir Holmes visited Sri Lanka in May along with the UN Chief Ban Ki Moon after the hostilities between the security forces and the LTTE came to an end. He had also visited the island nation in February and April this year.<br/><br/>
