Asaram Bapu, accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl at his ashram, was remanded to 14-day judicial custody by a local court in Jodhpur. He was produced amidst tight security before the district and sessions court yesterday where the magistrate ordered to send him to judicial custody till September 15th. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jodhpur said that the police investigation is almost complete and it has sufficient evidence against Asaram.
