JNU row: Delhi govt orders filing of cases against 3 TV channels

Delhi government has ordered filing of criminal case against three news channels which had aired doctored videos of a controversial event at the JNU on 9th of February, involving its Students Union President Kanhaiya Kumar. Sources said, the decision to file a case against them was taken on the basis of report of a City government appointed magisterial probe. The probe panel had found that out of seven videos sent to a Hydrabad-based forensic lab, three were doctored, including one clipping of a news channel.<br/><br/>Earlier in the day, a delegation of CPI(M) and JD(U) leaders met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and urged him to take action against media organisations which allegedly used doctored videos to create frenzy of anti-nationals at JNU. CPI(M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and JD(U) MP K C Tyagi formed part of the delegation .
