Jnanpeeth Award winner veteran Gujarati poet Rajendra Shah passed away this morning at Mumbai. He was 97. Our Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that late Shri Shah had written more than 20 collections of poems on various subjects, including beauty of nature. He won the Jnanpeeth Award, the most prestigious literary prize for 2001 for his exemplary literary work. Influenced by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore, Mr.Shah also translated Sanskrit poetry collections Balaaka and Jayadeva’s Gita Govinda in to Gujarati. <br/>
