JMM to stake claim to form Govt in Jharkhand

JMM President Shibu Soren has reiterated that he will settle for nothing less than the chief minister's chair in Jharkhand. Talking to reporters in Bokaro, he said, JMM is the single largest party and he should be given the chance to form the government. After a fractured verdict in assembly elections, Mr Soren emerged as a key figure with 18 seats in his kitty. The JMM Supremo, who was earlier chief minister for two short periods also said that he will stake claim to form the next government in the state.<br/>Union Minister and Congress leader Subodh Kant Sahay on the other hand said the Congress-JVM(P) combination should be allowed to form the next government in order to provide stability and strength to the administration. He, however added that Congress expects JMM president Shibu Soren to be with the secular combination.<br/><br/>Without ruling out exploring possibilities of government formation in Jharkhand, BJP said for the time being the party is adopting wait and watch policy and prefer to see a stable government in the state.<br/><br/>All Jharkhand Student Union (AJSU) President Sudesh Mahto today said he will support a stable and strong alliance in Jharkhand, which received a fractured verdict in the assembly elections. Mr Mahto, a former home minister increased his party's tally from two to five in this election. The CPI-ML (Liberation), which bagged only one seat in the Jharkhand Assembly election said it will sit in the opposition.<br/>
