The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has announced that it would contest the Lok Sabha by-poll from Jamshedpur. Speaking to reporters at Jamshedpur, senior JMM leader Sudhir Mahto said the final decision will be taken in this regard by the party's central committee. BJP leader Arjun Munda, who is now the Chief Minister, held the Jamshedpur Lok Sabha seat but vacated it after winning the Kharsawa bypoll to the state Assembly in March. The JMM supported Munda in the Kharsawa by-poll and in return wanted the BJP's support to its candidate for the parliamentary by-poll from Jamshedpur. BJP president Nitin Gadkari has, however, announced that his party would contest the parliamentary by-poll, snubbing the JMM.
