On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, the Jharkhand Government expanded the rupees five per plate meal scheme to every blocks of the state. Called as the ‘Mukhayamantri Daal Bhaat Yozna’, the scheme provide full meal at the cost of rupees five per plate at important public places like bus stands, railways stations and important points in the market place. State Civil Supplies Minister Mathura Mahato formally inaugurated the expansion of the scheme from Dhanbad. The scheme was launched this year, and was operating only in selected districts of the state until now. The outlets are run mostly by women self help groups, to which the state government provides uncooked food items at concessional
