J'khand court sends Yashwant Sinha to jail in case of alleged assault on govt official

Senior BJP leader and former MP from Hazaribagh, Yashwant Sinha has been sent to jail for 14 days under judicial custody.

The issue relates to an agitation yesterday at Hazaribagh by BJP activists in protest against frequent power cuts. During the course of agitation some BJP workers manhandled a General Manager of Jharkhand State Electricity Board.

The complaint was then lodged by the concerned General Manager for which the hearing took place in a court of Hazaribagh.

Appearing before the court, Mr.Yashwant Sinha refused applying for bail after which he was sentenced to judicial custody for 14 days along with 50 BJP workers.
