In Jharkhand, BJP led Government has been reduced to minority. It's partner Jharkhand Mukti Morcha has withdrawn support to the Government. The Chief Minister, Mr. Arjun Munda has recommended dissolution of the Assembly and submitted resignation to the State Governor, Syed Ahmed.
Talking to reporters in Ranchi, Arjun Munda claimed that the decision to recommend dissolution of the Assembly was taken as no national party came forward to form an alternative Government.
Deputy Chief Minister and JMM leader, Mr. Hemant Soren said that their decision to withdraw the support to the Government has reduced it to a minority. The assembly has 82-members .
BJP and JMM both have 18 members each. Munda Government also enjoyed the support of six members of All Jharkhand Students Union, two of the JDU and two Independents apart from one nominated member, who has a voting right in the trial of strength. Opposition Congress has 13 members apart from support of 11 members of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha and five RJD members in the Assembly.
Meanwhile Governor Syed Ahmed has asked Arjun Munda to continue as the caretaker Chief Minister till an alternate arrangement is made.
