As the gunfight between the security forces and the terrorists continued in north Kashmir's Sopore town, a jawan was reportedly taken hostage by the ultras.

A senior police officer said, the terrorists fired upon the security forces yesterday evening in Sopore town in Baramulla district, about 55 km from Srinagar.

The area was immediately sealed and searches mounted to trace the ultras. The exchange of gunfire between the security forces and the ultras began in the area this morning.
