<span style="color: #222222;">In Jammu and Kashmir, deputations of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) and women cricketers from Kashmir today called on Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan and discussed the sports scenario in Jammu and Kashmir.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A deputation of JKFA led by its General Secretary, Bashir Shah apprised the Advisor about the present scenario of sports activities and tournaments being organized by the association besides the present state of preparation for various sports events.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The association requested Advisor Khan for the revival of various sports teams which were patronized and sponsored by different government departments. They also requested for maintenance and upgradation of various sports fields and sports centres besides provisioning of various facilities including the basic amenities at such centres.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Speaking on the occasion, Advisor Khan reiterated commitment of the government for upgradation of sports infrastructure and other sports related activities across J&K. He maintained that the association has been very instrumental in generating the interest of youth in sports related activities in J&K and shall continue with its endeavours to promote sports and related activities in J&K.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said that the youth of J&K are blessed with a lot of potential and talent which needs to be properly groomed so that they can compete at national and international levels for which association has to play a key role in identifying such talent. He observed there is a scope for establishment of residential sports academies which shall host infrastructure standards and shall provide a reputable coaching so that the youth from J&K are able to fully release their potentials.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Women cricketers also called on the Advisor and apprised him about the situational facts pertaining to their field of activities. Advisor Khan talked to each one of them so as to grasp their role and contribution towards the promotion of cricket among youth particularly women from the Valley.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He emphasized that notwithstanding challenges, women of J&K have been contributing a lot towards the development of J&K and their participation in sports activities will augur well for the empowerment of women folk and this shall serve an inspiration to others.</span><br />''
