In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the Mahila and Bal Sabhas were held today under the ongoing Back to Village-3 programme in various panchayats of 5 blocks of Jammu district.<br />'' <br />''AIR Jammu Correspondent reports that the main aim of Mahila Sabhas was to listen to the problems and grievances of the women and provide them a platform to raise their issues and demands.<br />'' <br />''It would not only increase their participation in the decision making and activities of the Panchayat but also make them aware about different schemes and employment opportunities through Self Help Groups and Banks.<br />'' <br />''The Bal Sabhas were held to provide a platform to the children between 5-18 years of age to discuss their issues and demands and put forth to the Panchayat for resolution.<br />'' <br />''It also provided them an opportunity to showcase and groom their talent, enhancing their participation in different activities in the Panchayat.<br />'' <br />''They were also made aware regarding eradication of social evils like gender discrimination, drug abuse, violence against girl child.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Similar activities were also conducted in other panchayats of 5 remaining blocks of district Jammu in which the Phase-I of B2V3 concluded today.</span><br />
