J&K: Union Minister Jitendra Singh flags off free tele-medicine service and ambulance 'Doctor on Wheels' in Kathua

Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh flagged off a free tele-medicine service and ambulance 'Doctor on Wheels' in the remote Mandli block of Kathua district of Jammu division on Saturday. The initiative, inspired by the Prime Minister's Digital Health Mission, will provide people expert medical consultation at their doorsteps. Dr. Singh said that after receiving an overwhelming response of patients in far-flung hilly terrains of Doda and villages along the International border of  Kathua, the free tele-medicine service has now arrived in peripheral Billawar-Basohli-Bani region of the district.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The 'Doctor on Wheels' ambulance is equipped with the latest technology and system to connect patients with senior doctors from across the country. The facility will provide relief to people living in far-flung areas of Kathua, where healthcare services are poor. It is the first healthcare service that will be delivered via a digital mode.</span><br />
