Coalition Government in J&K has decided to create 2000 more posts in the health sector, the Cabinet sanction for which will be sought shortly. The announcement was made by the Minister for Health and Floriculture, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma. Listing various measures taken by the Government to improve Health Service delivery in the State, the Minister said that the Government has already sanctioned over 4.000 posts to make available adequate staff in various health institutions. He said the State is also expecting sanction of 200 sub centers which would facilitate expansion of the health services to uncovered far flung areas.<br/><br/> About the measures being taken to ensure medical staff in the far flung areas, the Minister said that the policy of posting doctors appointed against RBA category in their respective areas was being strictly enforced. He said that keeping in view the paramount importance of healthcare, the Health Department is making every possible effort to provide sufficient staff doctors and para-medicos in Government hospitals in the State.
