The attack on CRPF convoy and later 48 hour long standoff in Pampore left two Army captains, a Commando, two CRPF personnel, three foreign militants and a civilian dead.

Inspite of Police advisory to people against going closer to the encounter sites, hundreds of local residents reportedly made an attempt to rescue militants from the cordon in Dadsara area. <br/><br/>However, the security forces used tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters before launching an assault on the holed up militants.
