In Jammu and Kashmir, during an encounter today, security forces have gunned down a self-styled divisional commander of Jesh-e-Mohammed militant outfit, while his associate militant along with two other ground workers were arrested. An army jawan has also injured in the gunbattle. The encounter started during a search operation launched in a Khoo-Mohalla village of Bhatti Dhaar area in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch District. Two AK 47 rifles, one pistol, 5 magzines, some hand grenades and other material has been recovered from the possession of the slain militant who has been identified as Omar Khetab-a resident of Pakistan, working as the divisional commander of the Jesh-e-Mohammed outfit. Additional SP Poonch told AIR that Omar Khetab had taken the charge after his predecessor Dawood was killed in this district in January this year, by the security forces and was involved in a number of militant related activities in the area. He added that with the killing of the Divisional Commander of the outfit and the arrest of another Jesh-e-militant Mohd. Zubaid, who is a local militant along with two over ground workers, the security forces have got a major success in their operation against terrorism. The encounter has ended but a massive search operation has been launched in the area as a precautionary measure. The condition of the injured jawan is said to be out of danger
