In Jammu & Kashmir, the search and sanitization of the area is in progress following killing of two militants in Handwara forest area in Kupwara district. The area is around 100 Kms in north of Srinagar headquarters. Defence Spokesman told AIR that two heavily armed unidentified militants were killed in the joint operation of Army and police in Laribal Rajwar area of Handwara in Kupwara district. <br/><br/>The encounter had broken out late yesterday evening. Two army personnel also lost their lives in the fierce encounter. Two AK-47 Rifles, two pistols and one Uni Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) with eight grenades were recovered from the encounter site. Two unidentified militants snatched one service rifle today afternoon from a police cop deployed within District Court Complex premises in Kulgam district, which is around 70 Kms in south of Srinagar headquarters.
