J&K schools falling in Winter Zones will remain open during winter session

Jammu and Kashmir Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed said that High and Higher Secondary schools falling in Winter Zones including Rajouri, Doda, Udhampur and Kathua will remain open during winter session to compensate academic losses suffered by the student community during unrest in the valley. Addressing a function in Jammu on Sunday, the Minister said that heating system facility would be provided in these educational institutions to ensure smooth conduct of classes. He said education is vital for personality development and Government aims at educating every child to produce productive, capable and enlightening human resources in the state. He added that measures have been initiated to ensure 100% literacy in all the regions of the Jammu and Kashmir in near future. Peerzada said that Government plans to provide free uniform to the students to encourage enrollment in Government schools. The Minister said that 14000 teachers would be given training subject wise through DIET’s during the winter session.
