J&K: "SAKHI" One-Stop Service Centre for women in Ramban district inaugurated

In Jammu and Kashmir, Senior Consultant in the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development, Dr. Jupaka Madhavi and Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Rajni Sharma today inaugurated a "SAKHI" One-Stop Service Centre for women in Ramban district.<br />'' <br />''The Ministry is implementing a scheme for setting up One Stop Centres since April 2015 to support women affected by violence.<br />'' <br />''The scheme aims to facilitate access to an integrated range of services including medical aid, police assistance and legal aid or case management, psycho-social counselling and temporary support services to women affected by violence.<br />'' <br />''Under the scheme, it has been envisaged that One Stop Centre would be set up across the country at district level in a phased manner.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Out of total 733 districts of the country, 688 such centres have been made functional including 11 in J&K under Nirbhaya Fund and such Centers would also be opened in other districts of the Union Territory soon.</span><br />
