Under the first phase of Action Plan for sports development in Jammu and Kashmir, 28.60 crore rupees will be spent for developing sports infrastructure across the State. This was stated by the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Ajay Makan while addressing media persons in Jammu today. Mr. Makan said that under this phase, three synthetic Football turfs, 12 Archery Training Centres, one Hockey turf would be developed in the State. Stressing on the participation of sportsperson in the Sports Management, the Minister said that the Government is to introduce a Sports Development Bill in the Parliament in the upcoming Monsoon Session which will ensure sufficient participation of sportspersons in Sports Executive Bodies.
