J&K reports high spike in number of COVID-19 cases

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, there has been a tremendous spike in the number of positive cases being reported nowadays especially in the Kashmir Division of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. <br />'' <br />'' AIR correspondent reports, the COVID 19 graph in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has crossed 10,000 mark with the registering of 268 fresh positive cases while the number of fatalities have climbed to 169 as 10 more patients have fallen prey to the disease during the last 24 hours. Of the fresh cases, 181 were reported from Kashmir while 87 were reported from Jammu Division.<br />''<br />'' During the last five days only, the positive cases reported in Jammu and Kashmir are 1481 in which Srinagar district has recorded the highest number of positive cases as 399. <br />'' <br />''Meanwhile, four major towns in Baramulla which are Sopore, Baramulla, Uri and Pattan have been closed for today due  to the rise in COVID cases. Kupwara administration has also announced the closure of three towns Kupwara, Handwara and Langate for three days from today with an aim to control the spread of COVID-19 infection furthermore.
