J&K: Pulwama Dy Commissioner launches employment helpline for migrant labourers

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Pulwama Deputy Commissioner Dr. Raghav Langer launched an employment helpline for migrant labourers of the district.<br />''<br />''On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the helpline is aimed to provide employment to such people in labour intensive sectors like Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA), Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), Roads & Buildings (R&B) besides the accommodation of semi-skilled and skilled Labours in organized and un-organized sectors respectively. He said, the helpline will be useful to the people whose employment avenues got affected outside the Union Territory of J&K in view of the global Corona virus pandemic.<br />''<br />''  Dr. Langer said that a database is also being created wherein intending employers will meet with labourers seeking employment. He said that it shall also be useful for training providing agencies like Himayat Programme, RSETI and EDI to find the right persons to be trained for different skill sets.  He said, the intending persons shall be linked-up with the self-employment schemes like Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) and other subsidy schemes of Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture and Horticulture Departement.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;"><br />''The DC said that the labourers willing to work in various labour intensive sectors and credit linked schemes are requested to contact on Landline No. 01933-241218, Mobile No's 7006010738 and 7006727551. The helpline will be operational from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all working days.</span><br />
