J&K Principal Secretary Navin Kumar Choudhary reviews functioning of Agriculture dept.

<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production, Horticulture and Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Navin Kumar Choudhary today convened a meeting to review the functioning of Agriculture department. He also examined the status of the Capex budget of the department.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">During the threadbare discussions, the Principal Secretary stressed upon the Directors Agriculture Kashmir and Jammu to expedite the process of releasing of funds under the Central Sponsored Schemes (CSS) by the Union Government.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Directors Agriculture Kashmir, Jammu and Director Planning Agriculture briefed the Principal Secretary about the present status of various schemes and projects of the Agriculture department besides physical and financial achievements.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Principal Secretary directed the concerned authorities to take up the matter of projects under NABARD which are beneficial for the farmers. He also directed them to take necessary steps for renovation and increasing capacity of Seed Multiplication Farms in Jammu and Kashmir.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The Principal Secretary also examined the functioning of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) with the concerned authorities of the University through video conference and discussed various schemes carried out by the university for the benefits of the farmers. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He directed the authorities of SKUAST-K to submit a detailed progress report to his office as early as possible regarding how many works done by SKUAST-K in the research field.</span><br />''
