J&K: Parts of Kashmir Valley including famous ski resort Gulmarg received fresh snowfall

In Jammu and Kashmir, the parts of Kashmir Valley including the famous ski resort Gulmarg received fresh snowfall today bringing down the mercury further. As per reports, about three feet of snow has accumulated at higher reaches in north Kashmir's Kupwara district like Sadhna Top, Farkyan Top, and Z Gali while Karnah, Keran, and Machhil roads have been closed for traffic. Lolab and plains of Kupwara also received one foot of fresh snow while it was continuously snowing till the reports last came in.<br />''<br />''The famous tourist attraction Sonamarg in Ganderbal district and the upper reaches of Bandipora which include Badugam Tulail in Gurez received about three feet of fresh snow.<br />''The weatherman has predicted three-day wet spell till February 20 while heavy snowfall is expected at a few places during the period. However, the incessant rains have been lashing the plains of Kashmir including Srinagar city.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, Jammu-Srinagar National Highway NH-44 was blocked due to a mudslide at Mehad-Cafteria, Ramban, and a landslide at Tabela Chamalwass, Banihal. Traffic authorities have advised people to avoid the journey on the Highway until the weather improves and the road is clear and seek information about the road condition from Traffic Control Unit before starting the journey on the National Highway.<br />''<br />''Owing to the bad weather conditions in the Kashmir Valley, the University of Kashmir has postponed all the examinations scheduled for today and tomorrow, and the fresh dates shall be communicated separately.<br />
