In Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan forces again resorted to heavy firing along the International Border (IB) in Kanachack, R.S. Pura and Pargwal sectors of Jammu.
The firing started around 9 pm last night and is still going on. AIR Correspondent quoting police sources, reports that eight civilians were injured in the firing in R.S. Pura sector and four seriously injured have been brought to GMC hospital, Jammu.
According to PTI, Pakistan Rangers targeted 40 Border Out Posts and 25 border hamlets by resorting to heavy mortar shelling and firing along the IB in Jammu and Samba districts. This is the 17th violation of ceasefire by Pakistan this month which is being effectively retaliated by the Border Security Force.
Earlier yesterday, Pakistani troops resorted to heavy mortar shelling and firing from across the international border and Line of Control in Jammu and Poonch sectors, triggering strong condemnation by India.
As many as five civilians were killed and nearly 30 others injured in the heavy shelling along RS Pura sector by Pak troops yesterday.
