'J&K: Pak army resorts to mortar shelling, firing along LoC

In Jammu and Kashmir Pakistan army today again resorted to mortar shelling and firing along Line of Control (LoC) in Bhimber Gali and Naushera sectors of Rajouri district targeting forward defence locations and civilian population, prompting an effective retaliation from the troops.<br/><br/>Defence sources said that Pakistani troops started unprovoked shelling in Bhimber Gali around 5 am. Intermittent exchanges continued uptill 6am. <br/><br/>While in Naushera sector firing was initiated by the forces across the LoC around 9:30 this morning. Intermittent exchange of fire continued for three hours. There is no report of any casualties or damage on the Indian side. <br/><br/>Escalation of tension on the Line of Control and unprecedented increase in the incidents of ceasefire violations has once again triggered panic among the people living in the areas along the borderline.
